In this novel, Mr. Bharadwaja depicted how Mangamma, an orphan girl, turned into Manjari, a top rank film heroine by virtue of her beauty and acting skills. “It is based on some real life incidents of a top grade heroine of yesteryears. In those days, she was close to me and my family as well and shared many incidents of her life with me,” he recalled. “The journey of Manjari from rags to riches is an inspiring one. In one of the scenes in ‘Pakudu Rallu,’ Manjari meets Hollywood top actress Marlin Manro and shares many of her thoughts on life behind the screen. “The heroine who shared her experiences with me was a fan of Manro. She felt that her life was more or less that of the Hollywood actress. Meeting Manro at least once was the unfulfilled desire of the Telugu heroine. From this, I have woven the scene in which to top heroines from the east and west had a conversation from the bottom of their hearts,” Mr. Bharadwaja explained.
